Основу книги об архимандрите Иоанне (Крестьянкине) составляют воспоминания его многолетней духовной дочери Сусанны Валовой, более 50 лет находившейся под его духовным руководством. Ее повествование дополнено свидетельствами людей, сопровождавших пастыря в различных местах его церковного служения.

Мы молимся за дедушку и бабушку, но молимся ли мы и за их прародителей? Кроме того, изучение нашей генеалогии помогает нам быть благодарными – за то, кто мы есть, за молитвы, жертвы и таланты тех, кто жил прежде нас.
