Watch the descent of the Holy Fire and Pascha at the Kiev Caves Lavra online

A Paschal message from His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, the descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, and the holy Paschal service in the Kiev Caves Lavra will be broadcast this year by the Ukrainian Inter television station, reports the Union of Orthodox Journalists.

The programming will be as follows:

6:10 AM (11:10 PM on Friday, Eastern) – Documentary: “Pilgrimage to the Holy Land”
7:00 AM (12:00 AM Eastern) – “Word of the Primate”
12:45 PM (5:45 AM Eastern) – Descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
23:00 PM (4:00 PM Eastern) – Paschal service in the Holy Dormition Kiev Caves Lavra

All of the programs will be broadcast online on the Inter website.

In his primatial message, His Beatitude will speak about what the Blessed Sabbath is and what importance it has for Christians all over the world. “The Blessed Sabbath is the day when the Holy Fire descends upon the Tomb in Jerusalem, where the Savior was buried as a man. And this fire testifies that our Church is alive and that we are going on the right path,” Met. Onuphry says.

Last time in the Russian-language Internet, a whole campaign was conducted to discredit the miracle of the Holy Fire. The fundamental idea of these “exposés” is that purportedly there are Orthodox who themselves deny the genuineness of this miracle but at the same time continue to “dupe simple, ingenuous people.” What arguments are offered to support this idea of duping and conscious deceit?
