The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will meet at the Patriarchal and Synodal residence at Danilov Monastery in Moscow on Friday, reports the Patriarchal press service.

The meeting will be chaired by Patriarch Kirill and will begin at 10:30 AM.

It is expected that the hierarchs will make a statement evaluating Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria’s recent decision to recognize the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” and commemorate its primate, Epiphany Dumenko.

Patriarch Kirill stopped commemorating Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens when he officially entered into communion with the schismatics late last month.
