Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, made a brief working trip to the USA from March 15-16, 2011, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
During his visit, Metropolitan Hilarion had meetings with several bishops and priests of the Orthodox Church in America to discuss the current situation in that Local Church.
With the blessing of Patriarch Kirill, Metropolitan Hilarion had a meeting with His Beatitude Jonah, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada.
At St. Vladimir’s Seminary in Crestwood, New York, he met with its dean Archpriest John Behr and chancellor Archpriest Chad Hatfield.
