Priest Vasily Tachugi makes contact with Japan clergy; Japanese Orthodox Church opens donation account

Priest Vasily Tachugi from Itinoseki and his wife have made contact with clergy of the Japanese Orthodox Church for the first time since the onset of the recent natural disaster. They are alive, and the church is not destroyed.

In the damaged region of Tohoku, the infrastructure, electricity, running water, and telephone services are being restored. The Eastern Diocese of the Japanese Church is gathering information about the parishioners, and preparing to provide needed help, reports the website, Pravoslavie i Mir.
