Lecture on anti-Church Media campaigns to be given at the Russian Orthodox University

Moscow, February20, 2013

A year ago, on February 21, 2012, a group of masked individuals performed a so-called “punk service” in front of the iconostasis in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. That incident was in fact to be the starting point for a series of anti-Church media campaigns, declarations by individual representatives of the public with provocative criticisms of the Russian Orthodox Church.

A year later, on February 22, 2013 at the Russian Orthodox University, the editor-in-chief of the Religare.ru website, A.V. Shchipkov will speak in public on the subject “The Media Campaign against the Church. Could it happen again?”

The lecture will also see the launch of a book by A.V. Shchipkov called “The Territory of the Church. The Media attack against the Patriarchal Russian Orthodox Church in 2011–2012”.
