Athens, April 25, 2013

According to the Church news agency Romphea, Greek Hierarchs consider the order of the Ministry of Finance of April 2 that allows its officials to have direct control over all Church institutions (the Archbishopric, Metropolias, monasteries, educational institutions, etc.) without warning and participation of a local Bishop or Abbot a direct encroachment upon autonomy of the Church of Greece. This directly contradicts the Constitution of the Church of Greece. On April 26, the meeting of the joint commission "The state—the Church" is to be convened for discussion of the problem that has arisen, reports Sedmitza.ru.
