Uralsk, March 29, 2014

In the West Kazakhstan province, education officials have been penalized for spreading literature on same-sex love in Uralsk schools, reports Interfax-Religion. The regional public prosecutor's office has reported that by order of chief of the province's department of education, the director of methods study at the department was severely reprimanded. The latter, in his turn, fired the chief of the preschool and secondary education department of methods study.

Furthermore, the main specialist of the town education department's methods department, headmaster and three teachers of the school №16 were reprimanded as well.

"The tale of a princess, a prince, and a knight", by Sionella Petrova, which advocates same-sex love, was offered to school students due to a staff member’s mistake.

According to the list of books for home reading prepared by the Board of Education and Science, a book by Zinaida Petrova, and not the one by an author with the same surname, S. Petrova, was recommended for after school reading in the 2013-2014 school year.
