A 70-year-old from Poole is preparing to jump 15,000ft from a plane in a bid to raise money for a church in South Sudan.

Richard Tazewell, who is a member of St Dunstan’s Church in Poole, was inspired to do a tandem skydive after visiting the Wau Diocese in the far west of the African nation last year.

The retired landscape architect said the church is in desperate need of funds to support the community.

Anyone wishing to sponsor him can do so by emailing churchoffice.1@btconnect.com.
