Unidentified people tried to set on fire two Orthodox churches in south Ukraine

Unidentified people attempted to set on fire two churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the city of Nykolaiv in south Ukraine, reports Sedmitza.ru.

Two incendiary bombs were thrown into the St. Simeon Cathedral. The fire was put out without help of firefighters, report the Ukrainian media.

The St. Sergius Church was subject to another attack. The window was broken and the building caught fire due to the Molotov cocktail. Criminal investigations have been initiated.

On July 27 at 12:35 the Ukrainian Army shelled the Horlivka city center with heavy artillery. Without warning residential districts along Lenin Avenue near the central market, Pobedy (“Victory”) Avenue and Gagarin Street as well as Maysky Village and the modern house district were shelled with Grad missile launchers.

None of the administration staff members were injured — the shelling took place during a service when everybody was at the cathedral. The watchman, who was in a utility room nearby, survived by a miracle.
