Bulgaria detains Brazilian, two Moroccans on terrorism charges

A Brazilian and two Moroccan nationals have been detained in Bulgaria while allegedly on their way to join insurgents in Syria, the state agency for national security announced on Tuesday.

The three men, who are wanted in Spain on charges of participating in a terrorist group, were arrested at the southeastern Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint to `Turkey on Monday afternoon, the agency said.

It did not give any further details about their identity but said that they will be extradited to Spain where they are wanted on warrants issued by the Interpol ;police network.

European governments are increasingly concerned by the flow of citizens heading to join jihadis of ISIS fighting in Syria and Iraq.
