The Patriarchate of Constantinople has promised to stop sending its emissaries to Ukraine without the consent of the highest authorities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and all Ukraine spoke of this in his speech to the UOC hierarchs' meeting on January 29, as reported by a UOJ correspondent.

According to the primate of the UOC, the question of unauthorized visits by representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople was raised during the pre-Council meeting of the primates of the local Orthodox Churches in Chambesy. Representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople promised that there would be no further unauthorized visits to Ukraine or services together with schismatics on the part of their clergy.

St. Azarias Tema: Please see: http://orthochristian.com/114003.html. The canonical Orthodox Church in the Ukraine is not asking for autocephaly. Granting autocephaly to the non-canonical, which means ecclesiastically illegal, group headed by Denisenko would cause great problems in Othodox Ukraine.

The orthodox church has been known for Her peacefulness and in order to maintain that life style, I would advice Moscow and Constantinople to accept the autocephaly appeal from the Ukraine excommunicated orthodox churches, and focus on the dangerous separation of the Greek orthodox church from the state of Greece.the Prime Minister of Greece and his centric party are planning to separate the church from the state and signals an end to orthodoxy

Apology is worthless. Bishop Daniel Zelinsky of UOC of USA was in Ukraine for some 3 weeks in December.

Charles AG:

To be fair, they shouldn't be acting like this to begin with. Sneaky politics smells of corruption and convinces the weak to run to other denominations.

That's nice. But why did it ever happen? Why did it happen at all?
And what does that tell us about the Patriarchate of C?
And to think the EP wanted all of us, Orthodox, in America, under him! Not for anything would we want to be swallowed up by the EP! No thanks!

Really guys what does this have to do with spreading the Good News with those in darkness. This dirty laundry should not be aired in public.
