The message, released by the president's media office, said:
"In the festive days when we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let our prayers be dedicated to peace, health, and prosperity of our families."
"Let us also remember our friends, the weak and vulnerable, our compatriots in Kosovo and Metohija, and let us direct our thoughts toward the progress of our common fatherland Serbia, and toward the well-being of each person, regardless of their religion," Nikolic wrote, adding:
"Let the strength of our country be in our unity, understanding, and love."
Today is a non-working holiday in Serbia, as the country's majority Orthodox Christians mark Good Friday. They will on Sunday, May 1, celebrate Easter.
