Cross procession for children held in Kharkiv

A cross procession for children was held on June 1 in the city of Kharkiv on the feast of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Slobodsky district and the International Day for Protection of Children, reports the Pravlife.org.

The prayer procession began after the festal Divine Liturgy at the Annunciation Cathedral of Kharkiv. The service was celebrated by Metropolitan Onufry of Kharkiv and Bogodukhiv with Archbishop Alexander of Gorodnitsa and the diocesan clergy concelebrating.

The clergy, parishioners and children – pupils of Sunday schools of the Diocese of Kharkiv along with students of educational institutions of the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region – walked in the cross procession from the Annunciation Cathedral to the Monastery of the Protection of the Mother of God.

The procession participants offered up prayers for peace in the Ukraine.
