The Representation of The Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA shares the grief with the American people in connection with the acts of terrorism taken place on September 11 of this year in New York City, Washington DC and Pittsburgh.
Events of this day, which have taken thousands of lives will be forever included in American and world history as one of the most tragic dates. The clergy and the laymen of the Parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA are deeply moved and touched with sorrow.
On September 12, 2001 the clergy of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York, by the blessing of His Eminence Mercurius, Bishop of Zaraisk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, served the requiem (panichida) for the victims of this catostrophy, which has far reached passed national borders.
The Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the USA expresses the deepest condolences to the relatives, families and acquaintances of those who lost their lives in this tragedy.
We are ready to provide any possible help to those effected by the tragedy which has overtaken America.
