Fire at New York’s Cathedral, Church asks for help

New York, October 30, 2013

Administrator of Patriarchal Parishes in the USA Archbishop Yustinian of Naro-Fominsk asks believers to extend financial help in eliminating consequences of the fire that happened in the cell floor of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York.

“Not waiting for the insurance company to finance large-scale restoration works, we have to start glazing broken windows and install new doors instead those that were broken open in a hurry before cold weather sets up, so that liturgical life and work of the Sunday school go on,” the Archbishop says in his address cited by the press service of the Russian Church in the USA.

The archbishop informed that electrical wiring that goes from the office to the church shop was ignited spontaneously.
