Abbot of the famous Holy Dormition-Pochaev Lavra, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir (Moroz) of Pochaev is in intensive care after undergoing heart surgery, although, thankfully, his life is not in danger, reports The Union of Orthodox Journalists.

Met. Vladimir is the intensive care unit due to complications from his recent heart surgery. His situation is currently stable.

The Pochaev abbot is conscious and on the mend.

His Eminence spoke with Pravoslavie.ru in January about the attempts of Uniates and schismatics in Ukraine to seize the Lavra and celebrate their own false services in it, and about how God has protected the Lavra throughout many decades and centuries of persecutions.

At that time he offered a simple yet profound, Scriptural truth that speaks to his present condition: “We must remember that the Lord is with us, and that the thorny and narrow path leads to the Kingdom of Heaven.”
