Paris, September 1, 2010

The number of incidents in France of vandalism and desecration of Christian sites has sharply increased. According to data in the publication, La Croix, in 2009 there were 389 Christian sites reported desecrated. This includes 180 cemeteries, and 209 churches and chapels, reports the news agency KIPA. During only  the first half of this year, 288 acts of vandalism have been reported, which represents an increase of such incidents by 42 percent, reports Sedmitsa.ru.

The majority of these incidents are committed by unknown criminals; the police have only succeeded in arresting a few young people. Interestingly, incidents of Christian cite desecrations by satanists happen very rarely.
