Harrisburg, PA, January 12, 2011

On the Sunday after Theophany, January 9, 2011 (new style), faithful from six Harrisburg area parishes gathered at City Park for the third year to celebrate the Great Blessing of Waters. His Grace, Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania presided, assisted by eight clergy and over 100 faithful. Participating parishes included Christ the Saviour [OCA], Harrisburg; Holy Annunciation [Macedonian-Bulgarian], Steelton; Holy Apostles [OCA], Mechanicsburg; Holy Resurrection [Serbian], Lebanon; Holy Trinity [Greek], Camp Hill; and Saint Nicholas [Serbian], Oberlin. Fellowship followed at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. “We pray that God will continue to allow us to participate in His awesome acts of sanctification,” said Priest Stephen Vernak, rector of Christ the Saviour Church, “and that we might be faithful witnesses of His power and grace to our local communities.”
