Greek Orthodox Church Opens its Gates to Diaspora

Dandenong, April 13, 2012

The Cemetery Church of the Resurrection of Saint Lazarus is about to open its doors to the Hellenic Diaspora and to Orthodox people in general.

The reopening of the Church, located at Bunurong Memorial Park, was a decision taken on by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

On the opening day of the new church in South Dandenong, Victoria, Archbishop Stylianos will conduct a Divine Liturgy and memorial service for those who have passed away in Australia.

After the service, the Agiasmos of the church will follow. It is expected that many Greeks living in Australia will visit the new church on opening day, and that this church will be a motive for many others to attend Orthodox services on Sundays.
