On
Sunday, April 22, with the blessing of Metropolitan
Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine, Vicar Bishop of the
Kiev Metropolitan Theodosius visited the Chernobyl
Zone, which is geographically part of the Brovary
Vicariate of the Kiev diocese.
Bishop Theodosius served Divine Liturgy for those
people in the Zone who decided to remain in their homes
after the Chernobyl disaster.
The next day, on Monday, a memorial service was held in the cemetery in Polissya. The bishop then spoke with the local people and those who had evacuated but returned to their native area for that significant day.
