Olympian honored by Greek Orthodox community

A two-time Olympian from the Chicago area was honored Sunday by the city's Greek orthodox community.

Christina Loukis, who represented America as a diver at the London games and also competed at the 2008 games in Beijing, was presented with the medal of St. Paul.

The award is the highest honor bestowed upon a layperson by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese for admirably representing the church to the general public.

Loukis finished 8th overall in London.

She is a nine-time US diving champion and a graduate of Deerfield High School.
