The Archbishop of Cyprus prefers bankruptcy to the terms of a troika of international creditors

Nicosia, March 25, 2013

Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, famous for his independent position and sharp statements regarding the political state in the region, said that he prefers bankruptcy to accepting the terms of a troika of international creditors (the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund), reports Sedmitza.ru.

The Orthodox Church of Cyprus is going to open projects which might provide Cypriots with work.

The Archbishop has decided to invite Russian businessmen for dinner on Thursday in order to discuss perspectives of cooperation and to persuade them not to transmit their capital from banks of Cyprus, report Amen and Romfea news agencies.
