Act of vandalism committed on the territory of a church in Belgrade

Belgrade, September 30, 2013

Unidentified people have attacked the ancient Church of the Ascension in Belgrade.

The incident took place at night. The vandals broke down the church gate, reports the press service of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

This Church celebrated its 150th anniversary not long ago.

The incident occurred on the night of December 6/7. The donations that the parishioners were collecting for the church reconstruction have been stolen. The church was desecrated. At 12:40 pm on Sunday, November 21, 2010 unknown persons fired a grenade launcher at the Protection church in Ordzhonikidzevskaya, Ingushetia.
