The Diocesan Council of the Western American Diocese seeks an individual with experience and enthusiasm in gathering financial resources, to assist in leading a special fundraising appeal which will shortly be launched in order to preserve an important legacy of St. John the Wonderworker of San Francisco: the urgent and essential work to restore the deteriorating orphanage and house containing his cell, library and other relics of our great Saint’s life and work.

We are seeking a person with a desire to dedicate his or her energies to a wide-reaching, national and international campaign that will help preserve this important site and its holy contents for many generations into the future: pursuing donations, grants, pledges and other means of support to accomplish this holy aim for the good of the Church.

On September 16 an incident occurred at the parish of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk (ROCOR) in San Francisco, which is the former St. Tikhon of Zadonsk orphanage where St. John Maximovitch lived. A mentally disturbed man entered the building and began to throw things about. Thankfully, God preserved this holy place through the intervention of his priest Fr.
