The contact group on the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine called for a ceasefire before Orthodox Pascha and expressed hopes that the Pascha ceasefire will lead to a full ceasefire.
"The contact group has today called on the parties in conflict to fully cease fire before Orthodox Pascha," Boris Gryzlov, Russia's permanent envoy to the contact group, told reporters on Friday following a meeting in Minsk.
"We express hopes that the Paschal ceasefire will lead to lasting peace, and that it will give an additional impetus to comprehensive political settlement in Ukraine," he said.
Gryzlov pointed out that Russia proposes a 'roadmap' aimed at achieving relevant tasks. Its main purpose is to precisely state the consequence of the steps aimed at unconditional observance of all provisions of the Minsk agreements," he said.
