Snagov Monastery: Patriarch John of Antioch laid the foundation stone for a future centre for cultural heritage preservation

His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and all East, laid Saturday, 1 October 2016, the foundation stone of a future Centre for Cultural Heritage Protection and Preservation of Snagov Monastery, Ilfov County, in the presence of hierarchs, clerics and faithful.

His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, addressed thanks to Patriarch John X and the representatives of the Church of Georgia, on behalf of the Patriarch of Romania, for participating in the service and ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the Centre of Snagov Monastery.

In his turn, Patriarch John of Antioch thanked Patriarch Daniel for the invitation to participate in the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the martyrical death of St Anthimos the Ivirite, and emphasised the important role played by the Holy Metropolitan of Wallachia in publishing liturgical books.
