Lugansk region praying to the Mother of God for peace in the Ukraine

On February 19, His Eminence Archbishop Metrophanes (Mitrofan) of Lugansk and Alchevsk led a prayer service before the Lugansk Icon of the Mother of God with the clergy of the Lugansk Archdiocese concelebrating.

    

After the prayer service, the hierarch offered up a prayer for increase of love in the Ukraine. Addressing the faithful, the archpastor called upon everyone to pray hard in this difficult time, which the country is now experiencing.

The archbishop thanked all those present for the joint prayer and gave his archpastor's blessing.

On February 20, on the territory of the church complex of the Tenderness Icon of the Mother of God, another prayer service "for the increase of love and peace in the Ukraine" will take place.

After the prayer service Archbishop Metrophanes, accompanied by the clergy of the archdiocese, will perform a cross procession (a circuit in a bus) with relics round the city of Lugansk.
