Подвиг преподобной Марии превосходит аскезу Зосимы именно своей всепобеждающей устремленностью к Воскресшему Христу. Это не подвиг как набор каких-то самоотверженных действий – это состояние предельной открытости Богу.

За Церковь не бойтесь! Она не погибнет… А вот за себя бояться надо. Отчего? Да оттого, что теперь особенно легко отпасть от Христа, а тогда – гибель.

20 марта в слове на неделю Торжества Православия глава Русской Православной Церкви напомнил пастве о горькой реальности: сегодня происходит геноцид христиан. Святейший Патриарх Кирилл подчеркнул: «Каждые пять минут в мире убивают христианина. За сутки — около 300 человек, более 100 тысяч в год. Сегодня на христиан обрушились такие гонения, каких не было никогда, — ни в Римской империи, ни в Советском Союзе». Геноцид творится в основном на Востоке. Но он был бы невозможен, если бы западное общество оставалось единым в своих христианских ценностях. Важно понимать, что гонения на христиан, пусть и без массовых убийств, идут и в Европе, и в США.

Лет пять назад, после прочтения одной очень неожиданной для меня мысли святого Марка Подвижника (о которой расскажу здесь чуть позже), я вдруг стал замечать, что в каких-то острых ситуациях, когда вроде бы есть все поводы разгневаться, обидеться, начать спорить, всегда бывает очень короткий промежуток времени, буквально одна-две секунды, когда ты еще не дал волю страсти.

В последние два года в нашей стране активность разного рода сект значительно возросла. Произошло это на фоне кризиса, который естественным образом привел к увеличению числа людей, находящихся в состоянии стресса. Стресс повышает внушаемость, поэтому на сознание человека, который переживает стресс, воздействовать гораздо легче.

Несколько дней назад Интернет взбудоражили фотографии одного странного человека. На первых фотографиях Ричард Эрнандес, так звали мужчину, он со своим ребенком. Мы видим нормальное, даже по-своему красивое человеческое лицо. На другой он все еще выглядит как нормальный человек, но уже в маскарадном костюме, в которых ходят на гей-парадах. А вот дальше идет какая-то жуть.

Then it will be a joy to live, a joy to endure the afflictions that come upon us, while before us will glow the ineffable light of the Sun of Righteousness—the Lord. All the Gospel commandments begin with the word, “blessed:” blessed are the meek, blessed are the merciful, blessed are the peacemakers … From this it follows, as a truth, that the fulfilling of the commandment offers people the highest happiness.
