Once a certain priest went to visit the now reposed elder Archpriest Nicholai Guryanov and told him about the sorrows and problems he was having. Fr. Nicholai heard him out and said, “Rejoice!” “What is there to rejoice about?” The priest thought to himself.

The extensive cultural program of the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the Transfiguration Church began on August 15. Within the span of five days, numerous folk bands from Karelian districts performed for the visitors to the island, the Kizhi fair, and “The day of Kizhi Volost” holiday, open-air exhibitions and concerts were held.

У току артиљеријске паљбе, која је отворена 23. августа, пројектил је погодио храм у част светог праведног Јована Кронштатског у граду Кировском. Храм је срушен до темеља, троје људи је погинуло, још неколико настрадалих је довежено у болницу с тешким повредама, преноси сајт Горловске и Славјанске епархије.
