Новая повесть известного писателя, члена Союза писателей России, лауреата Патриаршей литературной премии за 2014 год протоиерея Николая Агафонова посвящена чрезвычайному событию, произошедшему в Куйбышеве (ныне Самара) в 1956 году.

As we begin the Lenten Journey, it would be good for us to consider the use of a “prayer rule.” This “rule” is of critical importance, for it will help us develop the discipline we need to progress spiritually. It is one of the great tools the Orthodox Church has to offer, since it has been handed down from the Fathers of the Church. This “art of prayer,” comes directly to us from the experience of the Early Church.

And second, the Fast is not about me. My fasting, my self-denial, my prayer, my repentance, indeed, all my effort, is not measured by how “good” it makes me. It is all measured in how much it makes me reflect Christ.

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is responding to the devastation caused in the South Pacific island nation of Fiji by Tropical Cyclone Winston on February 20, 2016 with reconstruction assistance to families who have lost their homes. Houses, especially along the coast, were battered by both Category 5 cyclonic wind and tsunami-like storm surge. An estimated 40 percent of the population was affected by the cyclone and are now in need of assistance.

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (Uniates) has remained a stumbling block in Orthodox-Catholic dialogue which again and again ruins attempts to establish dialogue, to bolster mutual understanding and to bring our positions together. This year, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia marks the 50 th anniversary of the repose of the great hierarch, the “Russian Nicholas the Miracle-worker,” our holy father St John of Shanghai and San Francisco. On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and Abbess Moisseia of Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mt. of Olives, Jerusalem, along with the nuns, greeted Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the gates of the convent. У присуству великог броја родбине, комшија, сабораца, представника власти Републике Српске и Брчко дистрикта као и представника на нивоу БиХ из реда српског народа, у Грбавици је одржан помен поводом 23 године од страдања 13 српских војника који су након заробљавања свирепо убијени и потом масакрирани 8. марта 1993. године. Помен је одржан на мјесном гробљу а потом и испред централног споменика.
